Ponta de São Lourenço Lighthouse
The Ponta de São Lourenço Lighthouse was built in 1870, and thus, is the oldest lighthouse structure of Madeira Island. In 1983, the lighthouse was unmanned and thus, operated automatically. Today, this lighthouse is powered by solar energy.
São Sebastião Chapel
São Sebastião Chapel was funded in the XVI century, by Garcias Moniz. In 1594 the chapel was rebuilt.
São Sebastião Festival
São Sebastião Festival is an annual religious festival, which takes place in the civil parish of Caniçal, on 22nd January. The aim of this festival is to honor its Patron Saint, São Sebastião.
