The nature and partial Garajau Reserve, was created in 1986 in order to protect an important area of the Madeira Coast, who serves as a nursery, taking a major role in restocking fauna. This reserve has a rocky nature, which after the 22 meters deep is in sand of shell ground.

Porto Santo is and island of volcanic origin, which belongs to the Archipelago of Madeira, Curiously this island was the first to be discovered, being the Madeira island discovered a year later. Porto Santo is an ideal place to practice Scuba Diving, on this island it can be seen a vessel named “O Madeirense” which held the crossings between Funchal and Porto Santo, which was sunk in 2000 with the intention of creating an artificial reef.

The Desert Islands lie 22 miles south-east of Funchal, are composed of three islands: The ilheu Chão, Deserta grande and Bugio. They are known to be the las refuge for the “sea wolf”, and is a important center for maritime biodiversity, finding in this place several endemic species in both the Flora and Fauna.
