Casa das Videiras is situated in the middle of the picturesque village of Seixal, on the north coast of Madeira Island. This is a monumental house next to the beach and near the mountains.
The name derives from the vines planted throughout the whole community (vine is “Videira” in Portuguese).
The main house dates back to the end of the 19th century and was beautifully renovated in the nineties. It was renovated, restored and equipped with three bedrooms, a luxurious sitting area, an elegant dining room and a complete equipped kitchen. The interior design is a mix of Portuguese, urban and rustic, complemented by pieces and objects that were brought from the owner from his journeys to Norway, India and the Middle East. The lounge and dining area has stone walls decorated with hand painted Portuguese tiles and damask silk.
In 2013 the rest of the house is added with the monumental entrance and the gothic styled chapel (the altar from Villa Nova Foz-Côa) and the ceiling with the Chinese porcelain plates from the 18th century – inspired from the old Portuguese chapels in Goa (India)
Next to this you will find the twin bed room, separate bath room, the library with modern and antique books and the terrace.
On the outside you have hand painted tiles, specially made for Casa das Videiras, and all with motives from old paintings from Madeira, inspired by the wine production.
We have tried to capture the romantic period from before the first world war.
Guests can enjoy a swim on the basaltic sandy beach or in the natural sea water swimming-pools, which are just a two minutes walk from this lovely holiday house. Or simply relax on the terrace or in front of the house and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere!
Stay in Casa das Videriras and explore the fascinating Laurel Forest and the majestic north coast of Madeira Island, where the mountains fall into the surfed sea!
