The Santo da Serra parish situated in the mountain, a 700 metros altitude, and superior a Machico and Santa Cruz. 

The climate is cold in the winter and amenable in the summer which makes possible beautiful views in the parish. In the streets, it`s possible to find gorgeous flowers that are called “novelos” or “hortênsias” that can be blue, rose or white. 

Exist greats restaurants, traditional hotels and camp houses that offer accommodation with tranquility and nature.

The Quinta da Junta is one of the most places visit by the tourists in this parish because it offer an amazing view over Machico and can see also Porto Santo.

The parish has the important Golf Course of Santo da Serra where have lots of national and international competitions. In this place also have attractive quintas and some are adapted for tourism.  

The population live, specially, of agricultural activity and the animal production.

Every weekends, take place, a long the principal street of Santo da Serra, a market represented by the local people where have typical food, drinks, clothes, flowers and another things.
