One of the most famous local products in Madeira Island is Madeira Tapestry. Madeira’s handicrafts usually use wool in a whole range of tones. This activity/industry is also well-kown in Santana civil parish. 

Madeira Tapestry appeared on the XX centurt, more specifically in 1936, with a German family.

 

Tapestry can be used in carpets, bags, seat covers, wall hangings, panels and cushions.
