The country house Vila Afonso is located on the sunny southern hillside of the island Madeira, in an area which is famous for the production of Madeira Wine.

The house, which was believed to have been built in the 17th century, was carefully renovated in 1999, so as to maintain the traditional Madeiran style, and some of the original building materials were preserved.

In its agricultural area guests can observe banana plantations and vineyards in loco, that produce the famous Madeira Wine, which can be enjoyed in a small tavern situated in the main building.

Within the estate, there is the beautiful main house with 5 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and 2 bungalows with kitchenette.

With an excellent panoramic view from mountain to sea, this propriety offers a fantastic indoor/outdoor swimming pool and sun room with lounger, among other great facilities.

3 Km (10 min.) to the North begins one of the most beautiful watercourses of Madeira “Levada do Norte (Northern Watercourse)”.

10 min. to the south you will find the vast Atlantic Ocean, where you can swim at the beach of Câmara de Lobos
