Holiday Cottages Fajã dos Padres is located on the south coast of Madeira Island. This special place has the shape of a small piece of land, at the bottom of a cliff with approximately 250 meters high.
Access to this place can only be made by sea or by means of a modern panoramic elevator.
Fajã dos Padres (“Padres” in English means priests) owes its name to the fact that it once belonged to the priests of the Company of Jesus.
This place offers 9 lovely holiday cottages all with wonderful views over the sea and with a private external area, offering the guests a truly natural living experience.
The particular geologic characteristics and climate of Fajã dos Padres, its pebble beach, bathed by limpid waters and its agricultural land, where the famous Malvasia Cândida vines are grown, makes Fajã dos Padres the ideal natural environment to spend a few relaxing days.
A spacious solarium, equipped with beach chairs and parasols help enjoying the beach in full comfort.
Besides the grapevines, a medley of subtropical species is cultivated at Fajã dos Padres, like mango, avocado, banana, as well as, although in smaller quantities, papaya, Surinam cherry, or passion fruit, among others.
Guests are welcome to follow the agricultural work, walk along the property, or just relax in the garden expecting to see the sunset over the sea.
Boat trips, snorkelling, or bird-watching, are complementary activities that can easily be provided to the guests during their stay at Fajã dos Padres.
Guests may freely use the access through the panoramic lift during normal operating hours. Access by lift outside of this normal operating time should be previously arranged.
