This beverage is made of juice from apples squashed by wooden fulling-mills. Fermentation takes place in wooden barrels. Cider is a very popular beverage in the parishes of Camacha, Santo da Serra and Ponta de Pargo.  Fresh and with a pleasant taste, it can be drunk with or without sugar.
