Chestnut Festival is an annual event taking place in the civil parish of Curral das Freiras, on November 1.
 
This is a very popular festival with lots of entertainment, traditional food and drink.

One of the highlight moments of this festival is the fact that visitors can sample various specialties made of chestnut, namely roasted chestnuts, cakes and liquors.
