Boaventura is one of the three parishes of São Vicente. It is situated in the northern part of Madeira Island, between Ponta Delgada and Arco de São Jorge.
Boaventura civil parish has mild temperatures, ranging from 13º in Winter and 26º in Summer.This is a must-see-place for many locals and specially ofr tourists, who visit the island.
Regarding it’s population, the most concentrated area is nearby the Church, built in honour of Santa Quitéria. This civil parish is one of the most quiest and relaxed places of Madeira Island.
The most amazing and beautiful levadas have their springs in Boaventura. These levadas, which run through the Laurissilva Forest (Laurel Forest) are Levada Grande, Levada dos Tornos and Levada da Achada.
It’s major economic activity is agriculture. However, there are also other activities, such as trading, services and tourism.
